Why SOPHOS?
The answer is explained in the following four letters; " W I S E "
Warm, Innovative, Stimulating and Edifying.
Warm

"The secret of education is respecting the pupils" (Ralph Waldo Emerson). Located at the heart of BSD CBD area, Sophos, with a friendly and affectionate environment, welcomes everyone with respect and dignity. Besides the advantage of this strategic location, Sophos also offers robust programs for different levels at a cost that is affordable and reasonable. In other words, Sophos offers a value for money.
Innovative

"The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves througout their lives". (Robert Maynard Hutchins). The facilities and programs are designed and arranged at such ways to 'draw out' individuals to facilitate realization of self-potential and latent talents. Individuals are encouraged to maximise the utilization of their creativity and curiosity in developing new ideas or methods of doing things. Within International Baccalaureate Primary Year Program (IB PYP) framework, Sophos blends national and international curricula dynamically to give individuals chances to capture a solid understanding of local importance without losing its global touch. "The best educated human being is the one who understands most about the life in which he is placed" (Helen Keller)
Stimulating

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire" (William Butler Yeats). Sophos understands that successful life-long learning depends on young children being given opportunities to develop personal and social skills. In which they could experience meaningful context, children discover things from observations, enquiry, exploration, and first-hand experience.
Edifying

King Solomon in proverb 22:4 said "Humility and the fear of the Lord bring wealth and honor and life." This principle will guide teacing and learning in a way that is best suited to young children and ensure that a firm foundation is built for the next stage of learning. It encompasses teaching and learning specific skills, and also something less tangible but more profound: the imparting of knowledge, positive judgement and well-developed wisdom especially in moral and religious knowledge.
